Welcome to Mr. Schneider's blog. You will be using this space to further classroom discussion and enrich what we have learned in class. At First Coast we are preparing you for the way of work in 2010-2011 and beyond. Blogs and online posts are used in college campuses and businesses across the country. This tool will give you an advantage over those students who have no experience in blogging. That being said there are some rules everyone must follow when contributing to the blog:
- Practice safe internet habits. Post no pictures, exact locations, or any information that jeopardizes your safety. I want you to be safe at all times. (2 points)
- RESPECT: Always treat comments as if you were participating in a Socratic seminar. It is acceptable to disagree, but honor others' opinions while you express yours. ABSOLUTELY NO INSULTING REMARKS!!! (2 points)
- I expect you to always identify yourself (first name, last initial, and period only) when responding. (2 points)
- Always refer to the text to support response regarding your readings. (4 points)
- Always acknowledge a peers' responses to show you've read their post. (2 points)
- Always extend your own response so that others may respond to you (This is an ongoing conversation). (4 points)
- Proofread before posting (COPS-capitalization, organization, punctuation, and spelling). (2 points)
- Always use scholarly language (complete sentences). No texting language. This is a class assignment. (2 points)
- Have fun as you engage in dialogue with your classmates. Your opinion is valuable to the success of our blog.
- Respond to this post with one paragraph stating what you expect to learn in the 2010-2011 school year.
